Description
This is the tree-form Ficus Ginseng Bonsai — a larger, more sculptural specimen of Ficus microcarpa with a thick, bulbous trunk and spreading canopy that gives it the presence of a miniature tropical tree. Available in two sizes, it makes an eye-catching centrepiece for living rooms, offices, and reception areas across Dubai where you want a living sculpture that demands very little care.
Key Features
- Thick, sculptural ginseng-style trunk with an exposed root system that creates a dramatic bonsai silhouette
- Dense canopy of small, glossy, dark green leaves that respond well to pruning and shaping
- Proven air-purifying ability — one of NASA’s listed air-cleaning species
- Low-maintenance and forgiving — tolerates occasional missed waterings and adapts to a range of light levels
Why It Works in Dubai
Ficus microcarpa is native to tropical and subtropical Asia and feels right at home in the warm, stable environment of UAE interiors. It handles air-conditioned rooms well and thrives in the bright indirect light found near windows in Dubai apartments and villas. The tree form is especially popular in the UAE for its sculptural presence — it brings the feeling of a mature bonsai without requiring years of training.
Care Snapshot
Light: bright indirect light; tolerates some direct morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon sun
Water: every 5–7 days, allow the top layer of soil to dry between waterings
Humidity: average to above-average; mist leaves occasionally in heavily air-conditioned rooms
