Double Trunk Mexican Fan Palm (Washingtonia robusta) | 3.0–5.0 m Clear Trunk

Two slender trunks rising from one root ball give this Mexican Fan Palm a striking, sculptural look that a single palm cannot match. Each trunk carries its own crown of bright green fan fronds, so one plant fills the space of two and can frame an entrance, a pool or a garden corner on its own.

Key Features

• Double trunk form: two trunks from a single root ball, each with its own full crown
• Four size options by clear trunk height: 3.0–3.5 m, 3.5–4.0 m, 4.0–4.5 m and 4.5–5.0 m
• An instant focal point for villa gardens, driveways, pool decks and hotel landscapes
• Fast-growing and extremely resilient: handles full sun, heat, strong wind and salt spray
• Low maintenance once established, needing only occasional removal of spent fronds

Why It Works in Dubai

Washingtonia robusta is one of the most proven palms in the UAE. It tolerates full, unrelenting sun, extreme summer heat, sandy and alkaline soils, and moderate salt exposure near the coast. The double trunk form keeps the slim, vertical character of the species while adding width and presence, which makes it a strong choice where a single palm would look sparse.

Care Snapshot

Light: full sun; thrives in exposed, sun-drenched positions
Water: deep watering every 7–10 days during establishment; low to moderate once established
Soil: well-draining sandy or loamy soil; tolerates alkaline conditions
Pruning: remove only fully dead fronds from each crown
